Father’s Day

Fathers Day

20 June 2021 –

“The Quality of a father can be seen in the goals dreams and aspirations he sets not only for himself , but also his family.”

Father’s Day is celebrated worldwide to recognize the contribution that fathers and father figures make in the lives of their children. This day celebrates fatherhood and male parenting. A father is a role model, guide, superhero, friend, and protector who stands by his children at all moments. They are the one who teaches us the right value of life and picks us up when we fall and give us the strength to fight again. A father’s sacrifice for us can never be expressed in words. Hence, to acknowledge this precious and unconditional bond, every year Father’s Day is celebrated.

World blood donor day

World blood donor day

14 June 2021 –

‘Life is in blood, donate blood – give life”

By donating blood, you are not only saving someone else’s life but also keeping your health right. There have been many pieces of research that have revealed that by donating blood, you remain physically and mentally healthy. That is why World Blood Donor Day is celebrated every year on 14 June on the birthday of Karl Landsteiner, who discovered various blood groups, so that people get aware of donating blood. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, despite limited mobility and other challenges, blood donors in many countries have continued to donate blood and plasma to patients who need transfusion. This extraordinary effort during a time of unprecedented crisis highlights the crucial role of well-organized, committed volunteers, non-remunerated blood donors in ensuring a safe and sufficient blood supply during normal and emergency times. This day is also used to thank donors for their service and determination to save lives and make the world a better place.

World Food Safety Day

07 June 2021 –

*“Food safety does not come with luck, it need to be PREPARED.”

World Food Safety Day (WFSD) celebrated on 7 June 2021, aims to draw attention and inspire action to help prevent, detect and manage foodborne risks, contributing to food security, human health, economic prosperity, agriculture, market access, tourism and sustainable development.

This year’s theme, ‘Safe food today for a healthy tomorrow’, stresses that production and consumption of safe food has immediate and long-term benefits for people, the planet and the economy. Recognizing the systemic connections between the health of people, animals, plants, the environment and the economy, will help us meet the needs of the future.

Food safety is a shared responsibility between governments, producers and consumers. Everyone has a role to play from farm to table to ensure the food we consume is safe and healthy. Through the World Food Safety Day, WHO works to mainstream food safety in the public agenda and reduce the burden of foodborne diseases globally. Food safety is everyone’s business.
